Coaching in Schools
Bringing coaching into the heart of school life.
We recognise that every school is different, so we offer flexible and bespoke ways to embed coaching within your school or educational setting. Let’s talk!
One-to-one student coaching
Our specialist, accredited coaches can provide confidential, one-to-one coaching for students within school, creating a dedicated space for young people to pause, reflect, build confidence and move forward.
We work in partnership with schools to ensure our coaching complements your existing pastoral and wellbeing provision while remaining tailored to the individual young person.
Availability varies by location. Please contact us to find out more.
Our Three Coaching Models
Every young person is different. They arrive with different experiences, different strengths and different things they want to achieve.
That's why we don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.
Our Emergence Approach offers three distinct coaching models, each designed to meet a different need — while sharing the same underlying purpose:
Confidence. Motivation. Momentum.
Helping young people understand themselves, believe in themselves and move forward.
PERSONAL COACHING
Full frame. Whole child.
Every young person can benefit from Personal Coaching.
Personal Coaching takes a broad, whole-person approach to personal development. Rather than focusing on one particular issue or outcome, it gives young people the time and space to explore who they are, what matters to them and where they want to go.
Coaching provides something that can be surprisingly difficult to find in everyday life:
space to think.
A space to pause, reflect, explore thoughts and feelings, and make sense of what matters.
Because we believe self-awareness is the starting point for meaningful personal growth.
Through purposeful conversation, thoughtful questioning and active listening, we help young people explore their strengths, values, passions, aspirations, challenges and possibilities.
There is no agenda and no expectation that we have all the answers.
Instead, we help young people find their own answers.
We believe every young person deserves to feel seen, heard and valued, and to have someone alongside them who genuinely believes in their potential.
Personal Coaching can help young people:
develop greater self-awareness
build confidence and self-belief
understand their strengths, values and passions
explore their aspirations and find their WHY
navigate change and important decisions
identify what may be holding them back
set meaningful personal goals
recognise what is within their control
turn reflection into action
When young people understand themselves better, they are better equipped to build confidence, find their motivation and create the momentum to move forward.
Confidence to believe.
Motivation to begin.
Momentum to move forward.
Our Personal Coaching is underpinned by the Emergence Approach, bringing together evidence-informed coaching, psychology and neuroscience with warmth, kindness, humour and a genuinely individual approach.
Full frame. Whole child.
iNSTRUCTIONAL Coaching
From passive learner to active learner.
Instructional Coaching brings the principles of our Emergence Approach into a more focused learning environment.
While Personal Coaching takes a broad, whole-person view, Instructional Coaching focuses specifically on a young person's experience as a learner — at school, college or university.
It helps young people understand how they learn, what helps them succeed and what might be getting in their way.
Think differently. Learn differently. Take ownership.
Instructional Coaching develops metacognitive thinking, self-awareness and agency, helping young people become more conscious of their learning, their choices and the strategies they use.
Rather than simply telling a student what they need to do, we coach them to think for themselves.
Where am I now?
Where do I want to be?
What's getting in the way?
What can I do next?
Young people are supported to reflect deeply on themselves as learners, identify their strengths and challenges, and develop practical strategies and personal goals that work for them.
The aim is a shift from passive to active learning.
From waiting to be told...
to taking ownership.
From “I can't”...
to “What could I try?”
From knowing what they should do...
to deciding what they will do.
Instructional Coaching can help young people:
develop stronger metacognitive skills
understand themselves as learners
identify barriers to learning
develop effective learning strategies
set meaningful academic and personal goals
increase ownership and agency
become more engaged and independent learners
build confidence in their ability to make progress
turn reflection into action
Confidence to believe.
Motivation to engage.
Momentum to progress.
Ultimately, Instructional Coaching isn't about doing the learning for the young person.
It's about helping them become an active participant in their own learning journey.
Know where you are. Know where you're going. Know your next step.
EMOTION AND MINDSET COACHING
Understand what's happening beneath the surface.
Some young people appear to be managing on the outside, yet something is getting in the way of them feeling confident, connected or able to move forward.
They may be overthinking, worrying, struggling with self-belief or feeling overwhelmed. They might feel stuck, lack direction or be held back by limiting beliefs and negative self-talk.
And sometimes, what a young person is experiencing emotionally doesn't look like an emotional struggle at all.
It can show up as disengagement, avoidance, changes in behaviour, friendship difficulties, low motivation or reluctance to take part.
Emotion & Mindset Coaching creates a safe, neutral space where young people can slow things down, make sense of what is happening beneath the surface and explore the thoughts, emotions and beliefs that may be influencing how they respond.
Understand it. Manage it. Move forward.
We help young people develop greater awareness of their thoughts, emotions and patterns of thinking, and explore practical strategies for responding to them in more helpful ways.
Rather than telling a young person how they should feel, we help them understand that difficult emotions are part of being human — and that they can learn to respond to them rather than simply being driven by them.
Emotion & Mindset Coaching can support young people with:
self-belief and confidence
negative self-talk and limiting beliefs
worry and overthinking
fear of failure
feeling stuck, lost or overwhelmed
managing emotions and reactions
friendship and social challenges
motivation and sense of purpose
navigating change and uncertainty
developing a more positive and realistic view of themselves
We don't try to remove difficult emotions.
We help young people understand them.
Because learning to recognise emotions, understand what might be behind them and choose how to respond can be incredibly empowering.
Confidence to understand yourself.
Motivation to make a change.
Momentum to move forward.
Our Emotion & Mindset Coaching is grounded in the Emergence Approach, drawing on evidence-informed coaching, psychology and neuroscience alongside practical tools and strategies tailored to the individual.
Every young person is different.
So we meet them where they are, helping them discover what works for them.
From feeling stuck to finding the next step.
Whatever challenge a young person is navigating, our aim isn't to give them all the answers.
It's to create the space for them to think, understand, choose and act.
Because sometimes the first step towards moving forward is simply understanding what is holding you back.
Three models. One Emergence Approach.
Whether a young person wants to understand themselves better, become a more effective learner or overcome something that is getting in their way, our coaching starts from the same place:
Listen. Reflect. Understand.
And moves towards:
Confidence. Motivation. Momentum.
A mindset education
for COURAGE, CONFIDENCE &
cOMpetence
What mindset do you need to be successful and happy?
The life skills we wish we'd all been taught.
Building emotional fitness. Developing mind management. Growing confidence.
MindsetED is our interactive, half-day programme designed to give children and young people practical tools for navigating life with greater confidence, resilience and self-awareness.
We believe emotional fitness and mind management are skills that can be learned, practised and strengthened — and that every young person can benefit from developing them.
Think better. Feel better. Move forward.
MindsetED makes the science and thinking behind positive personal development accessible, practical and engaging.
Drawing on insights from Coaching, Psychology, Philosophy, Sociology and Business, we bring together common themes from research and established thinking and turn them into simple, practical strategies that young people can understand and use in everyday life.
Our 'life lessons' explore areas such as:
Self-coaching — developing the ability to reflect, question and guide your own thinking
Emotional resilience — understanding emotions and developing strategies to navigate life's challenges
Mind management — recognising how thoughts, beliefs and self-talk can influence how we feel and act
Positive outlook — developing perspective and focusing on possibilities rather than limitations
Character strengths — recognising and using the qualities that help us thrive
Confidence and courage — developing the belief to try, make mistakes and keep going
Goal setting and action — turning intentions into meaningful steps forward
The aim isn't to teach young people to think positively all the time.
It's to help them develop the skills to think more flexibly, understand themselves better and respond more effectively to whatever life throws their way.
Learning for life.
MindsetED workshops are fun, thought-provoking and age-appropriate, with content adapted to the developmental stage of the young people taking part.
We deliver workshops across:
Primary schools | Secondary schools | Further Education & Universities
We can also tailor MindsetED around key moments of transition, such as:
moving from primary to secondary school
navigating important changes within secondary education
preparing for exams and increased independence
moving into further education or university
preparing for adulthood and life beyond education
MindsetED is about giving young people something they can take away and use long after the workshop has finished.
Emotional fitness is a life skill.
We don't wait until something goes wrong to teach young people how to look after their minds.
MindsetED makes emotional fitness and mind management part of everyday learning.
Confidence. Motivation. Momentum.
Helping young people develop the tools to understand themselves, navigate life's challenges and move forward with confidence.
Rooted Coaching
Coaching in nature. Connecting with yourself.
Inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing, Rooted brings together the benefits of spending time in nature with the power of one-to-one coaching.
Our walk-and-talk approach creates a natural space to slow down, step away from the distractions of everyday life and think more deeply. As we walk, we use the sights, sounds and rhythm of nature to create space for reflection, helping young people reconnect with themselves, their thoughts and what matters to them.
There is something powerful about walking side by side. Conversation can feel more natural, the mind has space to wander, and ideas and perspectives can emerge that might not surface in a traditional coaching environment.
Nature. Reflection. Connection.
Rooted is about creating the space to pause, gain perspective and understand yourself — so you can move forward with greater confidence, motivation and momentum.
Sessions take place in selected parks, gardens and natural spaces, with locations available across London. Where appropriate, we can also use school or university grounds.
Step outside. Slow down. Reconnect. Move forward.
